Smith Creek Ranch is a historic, roughly 195,000-acre working cattle ranch located near Austin in Lander County, Nevada, Veteran owned and operated farm dedicated to providing quality, wholesome organic bio-char fertilizer to our community. Smith and Cindy served a cumulative 45 years in the U.S. Army, culminating at Command Sergeant Major and Sergeant Major, respectively. Upon retiring, they spent their time developing a farm filled with happy animals, birds and amazing gardens!
We breed family companions like parrots, chickens, turkeys, ducks, goats, pigs, ships, rabbits, small mammals, aquatics, reptiles and many more. Whether you want to buy a dozen eggs, a loaf of fresh baked bread, exotic pet’s companion or a breeding pig, Smith Creek family Ranch is the place for you!
Smith Creek Ranch are active members of the military and veteran community, as well as the Upstate community. We established Project Victory Gardens to provide organic healthy life style, animal therapy, and Farm to Table Education for military, veterans, and their communities. Scott is the Founding President and Cindy is the Communications Director of the Farmer Veteran Coalition of Providence in Rhode Island. In their spare time they are both pursuing PhDs at Clemson University focused on veterans in agriculture. After a combined 20 moves and decades spent overseas and in combat zones, we never take for granted a morning when they wake up on their farm….
We always list animals and birds for adoption out of our family ranch all year round. Smith Creek Ranch also sells bird cages, bird toys, and bird food. We are pleased to announce that we now sell bird harnesses. We breed many of our own birds here. The birds not produced by us come from the highest quality breeders throughout the country or from a rescue. This family own business places a great deal of effort on education both in our part time staffs and to the public we serve. We are here 5 days a week only closing on a few national holidays a year and occasionally closing for special events or family retreats per year.
Our facility is divided into two segments to accommodate the diversity of two specialty companies housed in one amazing family building. We our part time staffs in each area to ensure our guests get that same great educational experience we’ve come to be known for in each hobby we represent.
